1. Give your auction a good title: There are many who do not really give importance to the title and tend to ignore the importance of it. They just provide a simple title of what they sell at eBay. For example, you might sell a Parker pen. If you just give the title as Parker Pen, nobody would even that there is something related to it being sold. Today's world works on keywords and you should be aware of niche words to sell your items - be it a fancy pen or ivory pen.
2. Good and Detailed Description: When you write a description of the item you want to sell, be generous in writing a detailed and interesting description. Highlight the strengths of the item you display very well. You should also write the flaws of the item; however, avoid highlighting them. Induce interest in the description by personalizing it.
3. Be meticulous: You should be aware of your product thoroughly. Bolden and highlight the important characteristics of your product and also your auction.
4. Refuse bids from bidders with negative feedbacks: Avoid litigation by refusing or ignoring bids from bidders or buyers with negative feedbacks. You might face bidders who would not pay their bills properly.
5. Use Pictures: Use a good digital camera and click few photos of the items you list in the auction. You need these photos to post by the description of the product. You may use at least 35% of gallery feature, so that it can attract people who browse the listings. You can post the images of the product taken in many angles so that the bidder sees the product while he/she reads the description.
6. Reply Questions: You will receive lots of questions from the bidders. Though you may feel that these are stupid questions, answer them. If you receive a question from lot of users, post your reply in public instead of answering everyone on the same.
7. Show Friendliness: Be professional but be casual enough too. People prefer sellers who are easy going than who are very business type or too professional. Be enthusiastic and friendly but don't be too casual in answering questions. Include good sense of humor that doesn't hurt the other person. People welcome this.
I'm sure - following this will help you gain momentum in your business. You need not be a conventional businessman. Use your common sense to tackle the situation and become successful in your business at eBay.
