The paid surveys that you see online and that you can get paid for too are created by major corporations to get a feeling for how their customers perceive their products. They are typically short and consist of easy questions. Online paid surveys usually last from 5 to 30 minutes and longer surveys are usually better paying. Survey companies pay prizes, points and good old cash.

The ones that pay you are the market research companies. These are the ones who create the surveys and send them out via email to their survey panelists like you and me. Also, you'll start to get more surveys as you build up a history with the survey site and they know you're reliable. Finally, you should make a point to complete the profile page at each survey site your register for. This ensures that the survey company can match you with the proper surveys.

To find survey sites you could do a web search, but this is likely to return millions of results. Many of these are survey database sites that offer you a list of paying survey sites for a small fee. You can use these sites if you don't mind paying a little bit, but the quality varies greatly.

If you're lucky you'll come across a site that lists all the survey companies for free, no cash or even email address required. They're out there and you can feel lucky if you find one.

So, despite the claims you may have seen, you won't get rich just by completing surveys online. It can be a great way to supplement your income though and paid surveys are really easy to do.
