How To Get The Best From Chainsaw Reviews

This is not really a problem because chainsaws and chainsaw brands such as Husqvarna, Stihl and Echo have their own individual army of supporters. It's like Nascar racing in a sense with followers of one particular driver or team being devoted to them through thick and thin.
One of the best ways to get a good cross reference of chainsaw reviews is to simply register at some of the online forums dedicated to power tool users and woodcutters. These are generally full of good information and include users of all the major brands.
If you are just an occasional home user and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a machine these forums are still going to prove extremely useful to you. You simply ask your question; size of your yard, thickness of the wood you intend to cut, how much you want to spend and how many times a year you expect to "dust off your chainsaw."
You will generally get an answer in quick time but make sure the forum is active and the most recent posts are within the last couple of days.
Budget Chainsaws
As an occasional user you will be tempted to shop some of the big mart stores. This is not a bad idea because you can pick up some pretty useful machines at incredible prices. Many are priced at well under $100 in either gas or electric models.
There is a drawback to this though. Firstly, don't expect to pick up any big name chainsaws such as Stihl and Husqvarna and secondly, there is the risk of getting frustrated with a lack of follow up service if the machine has problems.
We're not saying there isn't going to be any follow up service but it will mean you may have to go through the chainsaw manufacturer to get satisfaction. Before you buy through this type of store, just make sure they will include service work as part of the purchase otherwise save yourself some frustration.
Getting Follow Up Service Through A Dealer
Buying through a dealer who guarantees back up service is always the best option even if you have to pay a few dollars more. It's one thing to read chainsaw reviews and be impressed by the features of a machine but looking for simple follow up service is just as important and will be your safety net.
