Calculus, it is one of the leading branches of mathematics nowadays. It has been of greater use than the primitive mathematical processes in the field of modern research and development. It has revolutionized the field of mathematics since it had been discovered by Newton and Leibniz.
Newton used to call the form he developed as the “science of fluxions”. He however discovered calculus by starting off with differentials. He went on to utilize his newly developed art in the field of Physics. He made numerous discoveries and understandings simply by introducing calculus to general physics.
He pioneered physics with the boon of calculus which enables various physicists to cope with different obstacles. On the other hand there was Leibniz who started his work through integral calculus and later on found the notations of modern day calculus. He also researched symbols appropriate for different concepts.
No matter how they started or what they did both Newton and Leibniz had come to the same conclusion involving the fundamental theorem of calculus. For this reason there was a long strife between the English and continental mathematicians; leading to the downfall of English mathematics. They could not fathom which country would get the credit. However, later it was found out that both developed individual ways to find the same answer as has been already discussed.
Thus it is needless to mention that the entire calculus is divided into two major branches: Differential and Integral calculus. These can be further broken into differentiation, integration, infinite series and limits. The fact of limits is just an advanced consideration to the fact that majority of equations in science is considered to be conducted keeping the infinitesimal in mind.
With the development of calculus understanding the daily occurrence in our environment and precision of their knowledge seemed to evolve. Thus it became an essential factor in the field of science. Calculus help was being provided at various places of science just to increase the awareness.
There have been other science inventions but none have been able to put aside calculus. The only reason behind this is that calculus gives us precision to almost accuracy over wider natural aspects than does any other mathematical form other than Fourier. Thus the general respect for calculus came without force and it would remain to be the driving force for the number of discoveries and inventions to follow in the near future.
Maybe for this reason higher study with mathematics or engineering science involve a great deal of work on calculus. If it cannot provide an answer, calculus will definitely provide the way.
