When you are out of high school, your only qualification on paper is graduation that you have just completed. This may be enough to get you a basic simple job, only if you are aiming just to simply earn only that much of money. But, if you want a higher paying job to ensure that you have a better living standard, then you may need to think twice. Unless you have a good high paying job, it will be very difficult to sustain in these trying times. There would be a constant fear of going into seclusion. And therefore, it is important that you explore the options that will help you get that high paying job.
If you want to have an added advantage of additional professional qualification, you can check out the trade schools, CDL courses, certification programs, online schools etc. Often you may feel some pressure to take up a long term-four year degree course, since you would like to get down to a job and earn money. You have various resources to enjoy work and get some good money. You may even prefer to enroll for a two-year college Associates Degree to attain a higher degree. Sometimes there are options to undertake some courses part time along with a job. There are distance learning programs as well that can be taken up at a location of your choice along with a job. You have the benefit of location to learn at your own pace in such programs.
If you are not planning to take up further college courses immediately and want to join the workforce, the option for you would be to find out how it pays you only with your high school graduation. However, you could take up a job and keep aside some savings for your future studies. If you do not want to undertake a four- year degree course, you may find some good vocational course for a specific career path of your choice. There are vocational courses offered, which allow you to get a good experience in electrical engineering, or achieve computer skills, which would be useful in various field of works. You may also be able to find some DVAC programs that some schools offer.
However, if you choose to graduate after your high school, you will surely be at an advantage over others, who have not followed your step. You would receive better payment, if you held a college degree and even be paid much higher annually than what you would have been paid, if you just had a high school degree. Moreover, over a period of time the earning may not increase as much as they would, in case of having a college degree. Considering what you want in the long term, you could find and choose the kind of courses, the college or university would offer that best suits you and your needs.
With due consideration of your finances required to pursue your studies, you may select the path you want to take. You may need to make a choice between a job preference and attainment of a college or university degree to have a great future.
