The movie biz has seen ups and downs over the last century and many has been the technological advancement that has been the predicted downfall of the movie biz. The introduction of home projection, television and home cinema were all set to knock audience figures however non have succeeded in burying the talkies.

These statistics show that more people are spending money at the cinema than ever and developing countries allowing screenings of western films has strengthened the global market.
