Patience is the key here, but it is something very difficult to practice. In fact, the newly married couple is so obsessed with getting pregnant in the shortest time possible that they remain tense all the while and forget to enjoy their time together. Even a year seems too long to wait for them! What they need to keep in mind is to stay relaxed at all times, whether the first month or even subsequent months, yield any results or not. They need to comfort themselves with the thought that they will not have so much time to spend with each other once the bundle of joy is on its way!
Maybe some tips would help in achieving an easier frame of mind:
A few basics are to be kept in mind by the couple who wish to achieve parenthood. Getting pregnant is synonymous with a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Good nutrition as well as regular exercise is a must. Another factor to be borne in mind is that an overweight woman is not going to find it easy to conceive; weight control is the key here.
Other obstacles to getting pregnant are bad habits like smoking, drinking and drug abuse. The worst among the three is smoking; so immediate cessation is vital. Consumption of illegal drugs and alcohol is equally harmful. Conception is going to be delayed and health of the to-be parents is going to be affected. But should the parents actually manage to conceive, they cannot guarantee a healthy life for the future newborn.
Romping around in bed at any time of the day may seem like a wonderful thing to do especially if the idea is to achieve conception, but some knowledge about the ovulation period would go a long way to help in getting pregnant! If the couple can keep track of the time of ovulation with the help of ovulation test kits and calendars, success is a foregone conclusion. Since sperm can stay alive in a woman's body for at least four days, the ovulation period is the best time for getting pregnant.
Despite all this, if getting pregnant is still a problem, it is advisable for the couple to consult a doctor. A thorough examination will reveal any physical problems if any, and solutions can be worked out immediately. This is especially meant for women who are suffering from chronic health issues like heart ailments or diabetes.
