Those days, it took a long time to get a playground installed; not to mention the gross costs involved in the building of the playground. These days however, it is not only far cheaper to install all such contraptions at the backyard of the house, it is also safer as there is increased supervision and people an always look and see their kids still playing.
Most, but not all playgrounds have some form of shade structure. This is mostly due to the kind of equipment installed on the playground. Building on ground takes a lot of time and patience and therefore, including a shade structure could be tiresome for most people.
However, it is necessary in the summer to have a shade structure on the playground so as to protect the children and even parents from excessive sun exposure. Recent stats have shown that there is an increasing rate of thermal wave that is hitting major cities of the world. This means that your kids could get exposed to too much sun if there is no shade structure to minimize the effect of the heat.
Besides, constant and excessive exposure to the sun is one of the most prominent causes of skin cancer. This cancer is responsible for over one million deaths globally annually. This is enough cause for concern. The shade structure may not necessarily be in the form of a steel roof or a canopy, it could be in the form of grwon trees at the backyard. This is one of the reasons you easily find playgrounds in most parks in the United States. These trees minimze the exposure of both the kids and their parents or supervisors from too much exposure to the sun. Excessive sun exposure is also deemed to be the cause of a condition known as sun stroke. So, you really need some form of shade structure in your backyard playground.
So, what if you can't afford a shade structure? Well, you can simply make sure that your kids do not go out into the playgrounds when it is terribly hot or cold. Only allow them when the sun is not at its hottest-in the evenings-and they can enjoy their playground without being excessively exposed to the sun.
