The Sun is the planet that zodiac novices are most interested in. But the moon is equally important in a chart. This planet relates to the world of emotions, including the nature embedded by nature, nurture and memory. It resides in the subconscious and deals with how a person relates to those around them. The characteristics in this sign might not be apparent to the person they refer to since they reside so deeply in the mind. Others are often better able to recognize these traits, as they are put out there into the world more than they are reflected upon.

A Moon in Virgo creates an individual that has a reserved demeanor and an analytical mind. Though they can seem cold and detached, there are emotions there - it is just hard for them to figure out what those feelings are and how they are supposed to come out. They are also more sensitive than their manner would suggest. Just because the emotions are not evident from the outside doesn't mean they can't be wounded.

Intellectual superiority may rear its head under this sign but it is often a cover for a lack of confidence and an inherent shyness. They are perfectionists who are so harsh on themselves that the positive encouragement of others comes as a surprise but serves to bolster their lacking self esteem. This fear of judgment is behind the reserved emotions of this sign. That, and a complete lack of knowing what to do in an emotional situation.

These people don't fully understand the ways in which the other signs behave. This doesn't mean they disagree with the methods - they literally don't know what the methods are. It is as if everyone else was given a guidebook on how to be subtle and evasive and the Virgo missed the line. If you pour out your emotions to one of these people, expect to be greeted with a look of bewilderment. It will take them a great deal of analysis to figure out what just happened.

Even when these people are attempting to connect with another human being, it is a bit awkward. They aren't by nature deeply affectionate or sexual. They try and show that there are feelings in them by doing practical favors for those they care about in the hope that their service will become important enough to their partner for that person to stick around. They enjoy doing things for those in need whether they hope to benefit from it or not. There are no other signs as altruistic.

Common sense, practicality and realism define how these people look at the world around them. There is a purpose behind every action and thought they follow through on. Education is sought out for practical reasons like work or to be of better use. They are detailed, organized and a fussy perfectionists at times. A temperamental side can appear if they are unaware or confused about what is happening around them. There is a need for control in this sign.
